CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) - A procession for a fallen Horry County police officer is now making its way back to the Grand Strand.
The body of LCpl. Melton “Fox” Gore is being brought back to Conway following a procession to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
As of 2:18 p.m. Sunday, the procession had returned to Conway, arriving at Lattimer’s Funeral Home.
The Horry County Police Department, along with other agencies, began the procession from the M.L. Brown Public Safety Center in Conway early Sunday morning.
HCPD also invited members of the community to line the escort route but asked them to do so safely and to wear masks when appropriate.
The department announced Friday that a public visitation for Gore will be held Tuesday, with a memorial service scheduled for Wednesday.
