GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Students in the Georgetown County School District will continue learning at home for another week.
The district was expected to return to class on Tuesday, Jan. 19 but the uptick in COVID-19 cases in the county has forced school leaders to extend remote instruction through Friday, Jan. 22.
Students and teachers are now expected to return to hybrid instruction on Monday, Jan. 25.
“Students should continue to log on for live instruction with their teachers according to the remote learning schedule currently used,” the school district said in a statement.
The district also noted that all winter sports competitions and spring sports conditioning will also resume on Jan. 25.
