LUMBERTON, N.C. (WMBF) – Police said a man forced his way into a Lumberton motel and stabbed four people and also hit a 7-year-old child.
Officers were called Sunday night to the Econo Lodge on Capuano Road for a stabbing call.
When they arrived, officers were directed to a room where several people were standing outside and told police that the suspect was still in the room.
Officers managed to take the suspect, 48-year-old Lloyd Locklear into custody.
Police said four people in the room either suffered stab wounds and/or lacerations, including a 17-year-old boy.
A 31-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and his injury is considered life-threatening. He was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center. The other three people hurt are expected to be OK.
Officers added that Locklear hit 7-year-old child in the face, causing minor injuries.
Locklear faces several charges including assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and first-degree kidnapping.
He is at the Robeson County Detention Center under a $1.3 million bond.Copyright 2021 WMBF. All rights reserved.
