1 killed in single-vehicle crash in Florence County, trooper say
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - One person was killed as a result of a single-vehicle crash in Florence County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Master Trooper Brian Lee said the wreck happened at around 12:50 p.m. Friday in the area of River Road and Lewis Road. Lee said the driver of a 2009 Buick was traveling east on River Road and was driving too fast for conditions.
The driver ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected to the left and struck a tree. The driver was killed in the wreck and was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Lee.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken later identified the victim as 48-year-old Ronald Woodberry, of Pamplico.
