GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Georgetown County students will return to a hybrid learning model later this month.

According to information from the Georgetown County School District, hybrid instruction will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Students in Cohort A will report for in-person instruction on Tuesday, Jan. 19, and Wednesday, Jan. 20. Cohort B will report on regular schedule on Thursday, Jan. 21, and Friday, Jan. 22, district officials stated.

All school and district offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Hybrid instruction was set to resume on Jan. 11 after the holiday break. However, Georgetown County’s high COVID-19 case rate and staffing issues forced school leaders to make the decision to push back remote learning another week.

Students should continue to log on for live instruction with their teachers according to the remote learning schedule currently used.

Additionally, all winter sports competitions and spring sports conditioning will resume Jan. 19, 2021.
