CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) - A key member of the Horry County Schools Board of Education has now been hospitalized with COVID-19, according to Board Chair Ken Richardson.

Richardson said Thursday that Vice Hair John Poston has the virus, and was admitted to a hospital last week. He added that Poston is on a ventilator.

According to the HCS website, Poston represents the areas of Carolina Forest and Socastee and was first elected to the board in 2008. His profile also states that he is a practicing civil engineer and land surveyor.
