Police take man into custody in connection with Myrtle Beach vandalism case

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – Authorities said Wednesday they have taken a man into custody who was wanted in connection with a Myrtle Beach vandalism case.

The person’s name and specific charges were not immediately known.

Authorities said the Mount Olive AME Church on Carver Street, the city services building, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the SAU Insurance office on Oak Street and the police department were vandalized with red spray paint over the weekend.

Incident reports stated the buildings were spray-painted with the words “855 Pedo Money.”

On Sunday, Myrtle Beach police released pictures of a suspect. The person was seen riding a bike and had a mask over their face and a hoodie.
