Ronnie Burgess, longtime HCS administrator, passes away

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Longtime Horry County Schools administrator Ronnie Burgess has died, district spokesperson Lisa Bourcier said.

Burgess most recently served as an assistant principal of Carolina Forest High School.

He previously served as principal of Myrtle Beach High School, St. James High School, and the Academy for the Arts, Science and Technology, according to officials.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and the HCS community. He will be deeply missed,” Bourcier said.

A cause of death was not released.
