LUMBERTON, N.C. (WMBF) – Police are investigating a shooting Monday night in Lumberton that left a man injured, officials said.

A press release from Lumberton police states officers were called to Casson’s Affordable Rides on E. 5th Street shortly before 9 p.m. for reports of a person shot.

Before police arrived on scene, the 45-year-old victim was taken by private vehicle to Southeastern Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to officials.

“The individuals who took the victim to the hospital were present at the time of the shooting but have not been fully cooperative with the investigation,” the release stated.

The victim has since been transferred from Southeastern Regional Medical Center to another facility for additional treatment.

Authorities said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No suspect information has been released.
