MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - It’s another foggy, overcast, and damp start to our day across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee. Patchy dense fog has developed across some areas reducing visiblility by a few miles. Fog with lift out and visibility will improve through the late morning hours.
Despite the fact that we are off to a mostly dry start to the day, showers and storms will return to the forecast this afternoon and evening. A 70% chance of rain is on tap for the first part of the weekend, with showers and storms lingering into your Sunday morning as well.
Mild temperatures will also continue today and tomorrow, with highs warming to near 70° today and into the middle 60s tomorrow. This will mean temperatures are roughly 10-12 degrees above average for where we normally are at the start of January.
As we head into Monday, some dramatic changes arrive. A cold front will pass ushering in cooler and drier air late Sunday. This will mean a sunny, seasonable and pleasant start to the new work week.
