Victim in apparent hit-and-run crash in Mullins dies, coroner says

MULLINS, S.C. (WMBF) – A man who was injured in an apparent hit-and-run crash last week in Mullins has died, according to officials.

Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson said the victim passed away around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

The accident happened on Dec. 21 on Seaboard Avenue, near Marion Street.

Police believe the victim was walking along the side of the road and was hit by a vehicle.

According to authorities, the victim was airlifted to McLeod Health in Florence for treatment after the crash.

Richardson is not releasing the man’s name at this time, but police said previously he was about 38 years old.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 5, the coroner said.
