FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – One person is in custody in connection with the shooting death of a man in Florence County on Wednesday, authorities said.
According to information from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Raeshawn Shaquille Lawson, of Florence, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Investigators said that Lawson, while a passenger in a vehicle in the 400 block of West Palmetto Street, pointed a gun in the direction of the victim when the weapon discharged unintentionally.
The victim, who was also a passenger in the vehicle, died as a result of the weapon’s discharge, according to the FCSO.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the victim as 19-year-old Tylieke Easterling. He added the man was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
