MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Skies continue to this morning as temperatures fall quickly with a cold start to the day. Temperatures are in the lower 30s as you head out this morning, with the added breeze making it feel like the 20s on this chilly morning.
Winds will be relevant all day with a wind chill making it feel colder than the actual temperature, even this afternoon with wind gusts up to 15 mph in both the Grand Strand and the Pee Dee. Highs today will reach the upper 40s but feel like the mid 40s at times thanks to that strong northwest wind.
As we head into the evening hours, another round of very cold weather settles in with temperatures along the Grand Strand falling into the lower 30s and areas inland dropping into the upper 20s. There’s a chance for some frost tonight with winds becoming light in the Pee Dee. We will have to see if we can get the winds to calm down enough for frost potential on the beaches. If not, it’s still a cold start for the beaches tomorrow morning and the layers will be needed as you head out the door.
Temperatures will rebound into the mid 50s by Wednesday with highs reaching the 60s on Thursday. As we head into the weekend, cloud cover will increase with a few shower chances mainly Saturday night through Monday with a couple of disturbances wanting to slide through. Right now, the best rain chance over the next seven days is on Sunday and Monday at 30%.
