HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – As the calendar moves to the time of year when overall dry, windy conditions abound, Horry County firefighters are asking residents to be vigilant in helping to prevent the chance of wildfires.

“Please be extremely careful with any kind of burning you’re doing, as it could get away from you and create a much bigger fires that requires lots of resources to contain and extinguish,” Horry County Fire Rescue posted on its Facebook page.

Firefighters ask residents to reference the Open Burning Guide before doing any type of outdoor burning.
