FIRST ALERT: Frosty night ahead of weekend warm-up

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Cold temperatures tonight will start to moderate with temperatures returning to the 70s by the weekend.

Temperatures will fall fast tonight with clear skies and cold weather in place. The Pee Dee is under a FREEZE WARNING tonight as many areas record the first freezing temperatures of the season. Along the Grand Strand, temperatures will drop into the middle to upper 30s with a FROST ADVISORY in place.

After a cold start to the day, temperatures on Thursday afternoon will rebound into the upper 50s to near 60 under bright sunshine.

The warming trend will continue into the weekend. Friday will see readings in the upper 60s to near 70 with sunny skies continuing.

By the upcoming weekend, temperatures will warm into the lower 70s each afternoon with much warmer nighttime temperatures in the 50s.
