ROWLAND, N.C. (WMBF) – The Rowland Police Department is selling bows for their 'Back The Blue’ event.

The proceeds will help pay for medical and other expenses for Ofc. Michael Sale and Dep. Patrick Locklear, the department said.

The prices for the bows are as follows:

  • Small bows: $3.00
  • Medium bows: $5.00
  • Large bows: $10.00

The bows are available for purchase at the Rowland Police Department at 206 W. Main Street.

Locklear is currently battling lung cancer, while Sale was injured in an assault last month while on duty.

Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins shared a graphic photo of the injured Sale on Facebook, saying he didn’t want residents to hear of the assault, but wanted them to see it.

Wilkins' post garnered nearly 4,000 comments and over 5,300 shares.
