Man dies following Florence shooting; woman charged with murder

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) – One person has been charged following a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday night in Florence.

According to information from the Florence County Coroner’s Office, the shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the 100 block of South Warley Street in Florence.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the coroner said. He was identified as 30-year-old Jonathan Jay Heiden, of Florence.

An autopsy is set to take place at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Florence police said 32-year-old Taylor Bryson Heiden was taken into custody at the scene and charged with murder. She remains incarcerated at the Florence County Detention Center under no bond.
