Knowing how to use a fire extinguisher is very important for fire prevention

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) -Something we all have in our homes and businesses is a fire extinguisher. The question is do we know how to use it?
Firefighters use the acronym ‘PASS’. This means pull, aim, squeeze and sweep. When aiming at the fire, you always want to start from the bottom and work your way to the top of the fire.
When putting the fire out, you want to sweep slowly back and forth.
