Sheriff’s office IDs man found dead in Litchfield area; searching for those who last contacted him

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A man’s body was found Thursday morning in the Litchfield area, officials said.

According to Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jason Lesley, a woman walking her dog found the body at the end of a Georgieville community road, near a line of woods.

Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson said there is no indication of foul play. He added the man likely died within the past 24 hours.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 50-year-old Sean Dennis O’Brien. He had a last known address in Cary, N.C. and had been recently living in the Grand Strand area.

The sheriff’s office and O’Brien’s family are now asking for public’s help in finding people who may have had contact with him before his death.

The investigation in the case is ongoing.
