HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – One person has died following a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in the Longs area, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

SCHP Master Trooper Brian Lee said three vehicles were involved in the crash on S.C. 905 near Station Road around 7:50 a.m. A GMC Sierra pickup truck and a Dodge minivan were both traveling north on the highway, he added.

A southbound Ford Mustang then crossed the center line and struck GMC Sierra, according to Lee. The Mustang was then hit by the minivan, which caused it to run off the roadway, authorities said.

The driver of the Mustang died as a result of the crash, Lee said. Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the victim as 25-year-old Jessica Hughes, of Longs.

According to Lee, the drivers of all three vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
