NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A car drove right through a North Myrtle Beach candy store on Friday morning, causing significant damage to the business.

The store was not open at the time and no one was inside at the time of the collision.

Dowling said one of the car’s occupants suffered minor injuries, while another possibly had a broken ankle.

The vehicle was removed from the building and Code Enforcement crews inspected the building to make sure it was structurally sound and wouldn’t collapse.

The store owner was also on-site with contractors in order to secure the building and patch up the hole left behind.

It’s not clear what caused the vehicle to crash through the store.
