FIRST ALERT: Hot and humid today with isolated showers and storms

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A hot and humid summer-like day is expected across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee today. Highs will climb into the low 90s across the beaches and into the mid 90s further inland. Once we factor in the humidity, we’re expecting feels like temperatures to climb into the triple digit range.

Along with the heat today, we’re anticipating a few isolated showers and storms as well. These will be right along the lines of our typical summer-time thunderstorms, taking place mainly during the afternoon hours. A few heavy downpours can’t be ruled out along with frequent lightning during these storms.

Tomorrow, hot and humid temperatures will continue. Highs will be back in the low and middle 90s with our heat index reaching the low 100s again tomorrow afternoon. Only a 20% chance of isolated showers and storms is expected.
