Sheriff’s office searches for vehicle connected to deadly Florence County shooting; victim identified

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took the life of a 56-year-old man early Tuesday morning.

Authorities were called to a home on Cormac Court in Tara Village, where they said two people were shot.

Maj. Mike Nunn, with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, said both people were taken to a hospital.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said Timothy Shaw of Florence died from his injuries at the hospital. Nunn said the other victim in the case suffered serious injuries in the shooting.

Witnesses have identified and described a vehicle that was possibly involved in the shooting as a white Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows. The Florence County Sheriff’s Office provided a picture of a similar-looking vehicle.
