GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCSC) - Police say three people are now facing charges in connection to a deadly shooting in Georgetown.

Georgetown Police say Coltin Anderson, Steven Elliot and Malachi Thompson are all facing a murder charge in a shooting Monday night in the 2000 block of Legion Street near Lincoln Street.

In addition to the murder charge, police say Thompson faces a charge of armed robbery and criminal domestic violence.

Georgetown Police responded to Georgetown Memorial Hospital Monday night at 11 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting. Officers learned there were two victims and that the shootings initially appeared to be unrelated. But investigators determined the two shootings were related, police say.

Kawaun Montique Myers, 33; and Coltin Brad Anderson, 22; were both wounded. Myers died of his injuries and Anderson was taken to MUSC, police said.

Investigators allege Anderson was trying to buy marijuana when he said he was robbed and shot. Elliot allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Myers, and at that point, investigators believe Thompson fired at Elliot and Anderson.

Georgetown Police Capt. Nelson Brown said it is not clear whether Myers had a gun, but said that South Carolina law provides that all parties involved in the crime can be charged with the murder. Brown said those charges were filed after police discussed the case with the solicitor’s office.

Police found and charged Thompson Wednesday. Elliot has been in custody since Monday night.

The case remains under investigation, Brown said.
