Coroner confirms drowning at Myrtle Beach swimming pool

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – The Horry County Coroner’s office confirmed a person drowned Friday afternoon at a Myrtle Beach hotel swimming pool.

Lt. Jon Evans with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department said crews responded to 2304 N. Ocean Boulevard. A Google search shows that location is the Boardwalk Beach Resort.

Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said the person was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.

The person’s name has not been released at this time.

Fowler said the death is accidental.

Myrtle Beach police are investigating the incident.
