Coroner identifies inmate who died in Florence County Detention Center

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) - An inmate at the Florence County Detention Center has died, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Jail officials say the inmate was found dead in his cell around 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the man as 45-year-old Lloyd Bradley Turner, of Florence.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Turner was booked last week and charged with attempted murder. He was accused of beating a victim and stealing their car.
