2 killed, 7 injured in pair of Washington DC shootings

WASHINGTON (Gray News) – Nine people were shot Thursday night in two separate incidents in the nation’s capital, two of whom died.

According to WJLA, one shooting was reported around midnight in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. One person was killed, and four other men and a woman were injured.

Investigators said they were looking for two men armed with an AK-style rifle, and they were last seen in a light-colored Nissan sedan.

Another shooting was reported minutes later in the northeastern part of the district where one man was fatally wounded and two others were injured. Police have not indicated that the shootings are related.

The male victim from the Northeast Washington shooting died at the hospital, WJLA stated. Another man and woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the lower body.
