HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Curfews are being implemented in Horry County and cities as Hurricane Dorian wreaks havoc along the Grand Strand coastline.
Horry County Council voted on Thursday to institute a curfew for the unincorporated areas of the county from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday. Transit during the curfew will be prohibited, with the exception of emergencies.
The city of Conway also announced that it will impose a curfew Thursday night as it deals with the impacts of Hurricane Dorian.
The curfew will be in place from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Friday. The curfew is in place to limit the number of people on the roads in the dangerous conditions.
At this point, the curfew will only be in place for Thursday. The city said it will reevaluate the conditions on Friday.
Officials with the city of Loris also announced that a curfew would go into effect Thursday night at 7 p.m.
