Myrtle Beach announces double red flag for Monday, swimming in ocean not allowed

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach Fire Department announced that swimming will not be allowed in the ocean on Monday.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, a double red flag will be in effect for Sept. 2.

This is the second day in a row a double red flag has been announced for the beaches of Myrtle Beach.

“Thank you for helping us keep your families and our crews safe by not going more than ankle deep in the water!” the post stated.
