MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly three-vehicle crash in Marlboro County.

Troopers responded around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to Highway 15-401 heading toward Society Hill.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Judd Jones said a Chevrolet pick-up truck was heading south on Highway 15-401 when a 2006 Ford heading north crossed the center line and hit the pick-up truck head-on. Jones said this caused a third vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet four-door, to crash into the 2006 Ford.

Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown identified the victim as 64-year-old Mary Ann Toney. He added Toney died at the scene and was the passenger in the pick-up truck.

Troopers said the drivers of the pick-up truck and 2006 Ford were taken to McLeod Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the 2010 Chevy four-door was taken to McLeod Health Cheraw with minor injuries.
