LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – A suspect turned himself into police in connection to a shooting that took place earlier this month.

Demarreon McDaniel, 26, and Sterling Hester, 27, went to a home in the 1100 block of Cherokee Street with the tenant, according to investigators.

McDaniel was taken to the hospital, but when he was released from the hospital, authorities couldn’t locate him.

McDaniel is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, felony conspiracy and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Hester was also arrested in the case.
