MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The long stretch of summer-like heat continues through the week.
Mild mornings and hot afternoons prevail through most of the week. A weak cold front does manage to sneak into the Carolinas Wednesday and Thursday, providing some short-term relief.
Temperatures through mid-week fall to around 80° along the Grand Strand, 90° in Florence. Slightly lower humidity means the heat index remains manageable. Enjoy the break as the mugginess really ramps up closer to the weekend.
We turn muggy by Friday, only increasing into the weekend. Temperatures climb into the upper 80s along the Grand Strand, upper 90s across the Pee Dee. Once you factor in the humidity, the heat index will approach 100° this weekend!
The pattern still looks very dry over the next week. Outside of an isolated afternoon shower, most areas look to remain rain-free.
