CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Tuesday is the start of the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament at Coastal Carolina University’s Springs Brooks Stadium in Conway.

The CCU Chanticleers finished the season with a 30-23-1 record and received the No. 5 seed for the championship tournament.

It marks the fifth straight season the team posted 30 or more wins.

CCU Coach Gary Gilmore said having home field advantage is big for the players and fans.

"It's incredible man. That was a lot of travel last year coming back from App State on the bus,” Gilmore said. “In 24 hours, we were on the plane to Lafayette to go down there. So, to be here and have a chance to play on our home field in front of our home fans is a huge thing for us."

Coastal’s first game will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. against the University of Texas at Arlington.
