HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two people are dead following a multi-vehicle car crash on Highway 22 early Saturday morning.

According to Horry County Fire Rescue, crews responded to a wreck involving two cars and a tour bus around 3:30 a.m. Two people were killed and one other hurt in the crash.

Country music star Travis Tritt wrote on Twitter that his tour bus was involved in the wreck, saying everyone on the bus was okay. According to SCHP, Tritt’s tour bus was not directly involved in the crash, swerving to avoid the fatal collision.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims as 61-year-old Tonda Cross from Ellettsville, IN and 25-year-old Charles “Cody” Wade, III of Conway/Myrtle Beach area.

SCHP says as of 7:00 a.m. Saturday, 12 crashes involving a motorcycle have been investigated.

“I feel so bad for those who died needlessly tonight. I’m really shaken up by what I witnessed. God bless those who died,” he said.

Tritt wrote that his bus was sideswiped by a wrong-way driver.

Tritt was scheduled to perform at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach last night, according to his website.
