Myrtle Beach police officers searching for armed robbery suspect

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A search is underway in Myrtle Beach for an armed robbery suspect.

Myrtle Beach Police Cpl. Tom Vest said officers tried to stop the suspect Friday night but the person fled in the area of 21st Avenue North and Oak Street.

Vest said the armed robbery occurred around 4 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of 4th Avenue North. He could not confirm if the suspect is currently armed.

Vest said the person that officers are looking for is a thin, black male wearing a gray sweatshirt.
