BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A Bolivia man wanted for attempted murder in Horry County, SC is behind bars in Brunswick County.

Stephan Lanier Jackson, 27, was arrested by law enforcement at his home on Mulligan Way Tuesday.

He was wanted by the Horry County Police Department on charges of attempted murder and possession of a dangerous weapon during a violent crime in connection with a shooting that happened at the Empire Bar & Grill in Little River, SC on March 3, according to records.

The victim told police he was at the bar when an unknown person in the crowd began shooting a pistol. He said he ran around his vehicle at which time he “felt weird and fell down,” according to an incident report.

The victim’s cousin and another person drove him to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

Jackson is currently in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $1 million bond and is awaiting extradition to South Carolina.
