HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Samaritan’s Purse, the international Christian relief organization, is set to help hundreds of families in North Carolina and South Carolina still reeling from last year’s hurricanes.
According to a press release, the group plans to help more than 310 families return home. That includes people affected by Hurricane Florence in the Lumberton/New Bern/Whiteville area in North Carolina and Horry County.
"Months after the hurricanes hit, families are still suffering. Samaritan's Purse has been on the ground since the beginning, and we are prepared to stay until these communities are restored," said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse.
Volunteers are set to rebuild homes from the ground up and provide major repairs, the release stated. The organization will also replace 120 manufactured homes for families.
