One killed, two injured in late-night crash in the Pee Dee

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a traffic crash Sunday night in Dillon County.

According to Trooper Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on Interstate 95 near mile marker 187 and involved three vehicles: a GMC Sierra towing a boat, a Nissan Xterra and a Lexus.

The GMC had two occupants, one of which was taken to the hospital for treatment, Tidwell said. Both were wearing seatbelts.

The three occupants of the Nissan Xterra were also wearing seatbelts, and no one was injured, according to Tidwell.

The driver of the Lexus was killed in the accident, Tidwell said. A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital for their injuries. Tidwell added the two occupants of the Lexus were wearing seatbelts.

The SCHP Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash.
