MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - On Monday, the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club honored the 2019 Police Officer of the Year.
Past honorees, city officials and members of the MBPD were at the Ocean Reef Hotel to celebrate honoree David Clever's hard work and dedication to the job.
He said the award not only celebrates him, but all the officers who put in the work to keep the community safe.
"Winning this award is a great honor today (Monday) because it represents the community and the rotary coming together to notify exactly who we are, what we do and how we do working for the public. So, it's a great honor being nominated today, also being alongside the other nominees," Clever said.
Clever has been in law enforcement since 1999. Most recently, he was sworn into the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
