HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Horry County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the person who drowned in a swimming pool at an area hotel.

According to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, first responders were called to 101 Fantasy Harbour Blvd., the RiverWalk Inn and Suites, at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday after a man was pulled out of the pool.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Willard said. He has been identified as 36-year-old Enrique Nava Nava, originally from Guerrero, Mexico. According to the coroner, he had been in the U.S. for approximately five years.

Willard said the victim died of asphyxiation due to drowning.
