MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police are investigating after three men reportedly assaulted and robbed a 22-year-old outside a Myrtle Beach gas station early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the Scotchman at 6201 North Kings Highway and spoke to the victim, who said he was assaulted by three white males at an air pump behind the gas station, according to a police report.

The victim said he was playing pool for money with the suspects at a nearby bar. The 22-year-old told police that prior to leaving the bar, he approached a white Crown Victoria with the three suspects inside to buy a loose cigarette, the report confirms.

Police say the victim then went to the Scotchman where he exchanged $2.00 for quarters and proceeded to the air pumps to inflate his bicycle tires.

The suspects approached the victim and “exchanged words” with him before they assaulted the 22-year-old, according to the report. The suspects reportedly stole the victim’s money and phone before fleeing in the Crown Victoria.

According to police, paramedics responded to the scene to assess the victim’s facial injuries and minor lacerations to his torso, arms and knees.
