Police release new surveillance pictures of a man suspected in a sexual assault in North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety released new surveillance pictures of a man who they believe sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in front of a hotel.

The pictures give a much clearer view of the suspect’s face.

A 21-year-old woman told officers that around 9:50 p.m. Monday, she was walking along South Ocean Boulevard in front of the Wyndham when a man wearing a ski mask grabbed her, pulled her into the alley, put a gun to her head and made her perform oral sex.

The woman said she was unable to see the suspect’s face because he had on a ski mask but said he was black, in his late 20s, was a medium height and heavy set.

She said another man walked by and that’s when the suspect grabbed the victim’s phone, threw it and then he ran toward Ocean Boulevard.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and people should not approach him.

Anyone who knows him and sees him is asked to call North Myrtle Beach Public Safety at 843-280-5511
