MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - This weekend will be a packed weekend with events. The SC Weekend team has highlighted great events but what about the weather for those events?
Temperatures Friday night will be in the mid 70s in Myrtle Beach. A few scattered showers and storms cannot be ruled out for the Derby Eve game for the Pelicans. It's important to know that this will not be a washout so we should remain okay for the ball game and the live horse race.
The story doesn’t change much for the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Florence Friday night. Temperatures will be a little warmer with the lower 80s by the start of the event. Look for a few showers off and on throughout the evening. If you are planning on heading to Florence, eat a few tacos for the WMBF Weather Team.
Saturday is busy day with plenty of events. The good news with the forecast is Saturday also features the least rain chances for the weekend. Outside of a stray shower or two, we should remain dry Saturday. Partly cloudy skies will be the main story for the Rivertown Music and Craft Beer Festival in Conway.
If you are pumped for the Derby and want to celebrate with others, there are two great events happening in our area. Temperatures should remain a touch cooler for Saturday. Highs will climb into the upper 70s with an isolated rain chance. This is perfect weather for the Grande Dunes Derby Party.
Highs will be slightly warmer for Hartsville's Run for the Roses event on Saturday. Once again, a 20% chance of rain is expected for the evening hours on Saturday.
Our rain chances will increase for any plans on Sunday. The weak cold front will work across the area, bringing scattered showers and storms back to 40%. Of course, you can stay updated with the weather by downloading the First Alert Weather App. We will update you throughout the weekend as you are out celebrating Cinco de Mayo, Derby and the Rivertown Music and Craft Beer.
