MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Family, friends and students will say their final goodbyes to longtime Myrtle Beach educator and tennis coach Rivers Lynch on Thursday.
Lynch unexpectedly passed away Sunday at the age of 72. He started at Myrtle Beach High School in 1980, teaching driver’s ed, biology and an education enhancement program.
In addition to coaching tennis, Lynch also coached girls and boys basketball, volleyball, track and baseball.
Sunday was a day of mourning for thousands who had crossed his path. They said they would always remember Lynch’s genuine trademark smile.
Lynch is set to be laid to rest at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, located at 3810 Robert M Grissom Pkwy., in Myrtle Beach.
