MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Mice droppings were found in not one, but two restaurants in Horry County, according to inspectors.
At Original Shuckers Raw Bar at 300 North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, inspectors said they saw mice droppings a shelf behind the chest freezer, along with torn up paper.
They also discovered styrofoam container holding jalapenos was found stored in a container of cut green onions and fryer baskets with batter build-up.
Inspectors also noted a spoon stored in the hush puppy batter and a plastic cup used as an ice scoop. An inspection report also showed a condiment cup was found being used as a scoop for melted margarine and sides of equipment had grease build-up.
Inspectors gave Original Shuckers Raw Bar an 81 out of 100.
Mice droppings were also discovered throughout the Nathans World Famous Hot Dogs at 3612 South Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach, an inspection report stated. Inspectors noted droppings in the kitchen, storage areas and ice cream areas, as well as under the hand sink and under equipment. The mice droppings were also found on a grill in the back that was not in use and also under counter top equipment and on shelves.
Inspectors said they also found the flat grill had a buildup of dirt and there was an air gap at the back door where tight seal is required.
Documents also showed the hood was found not sealed to the wall leaving a gap and there was a buildup of grease and debris on tables and under flat grills.
The ice cream freezer was filled with ice and in need of defrosting and cleaning and the interior of the microwave had accumulation of food splash, according to the inspection report.
Inspectors found the ceiling in poor repair over the door to the kitchen and it was leaking and the cover base was also in poor repair under the ice cream unit.
Nathans World Famous Hotdogs received a 91 out of 100.
A trio of perfect scores this week. Two of them are from the same restaurant but different locations.
Five Guys at 1200 Highway 17 North in North Myrtle Beach and the store at 1772 Pine Island Drive in Myrtle Beach each scored 100.
Dairy King at 201 Sea Mountain Highway in North Myrtle Beach also received a perfect score.
