MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office had a familiar and furry face come by and visit on Tuesday.
K-9 Kilo stopped by for a change of scenery while he recovers after being shot.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit said Kilo had a great check-up last week. His sutures are out, his incision is healing and his cone is gone.
Someone shot Kilo earlier this month when he escaped from his enclosure.
He was rushed to North Carolina State Veterinary Hospital where he underwent surgery. The K-9 Unit said he has a long recovery ahead but could possibly return to tracking by the end of the year.
The investigation into who shot Kilo is ongoing and there is a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
