ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – A United Kingdom-based forestry management company will bring a facility and jobs to Robeson County.
According to a press release, Active Energy Group PLC has acquired a 415,000-square-foot building in Robeson County that will be the U.S. base of its biomass processing operations. In addition, the company will create 50 jobs at the facility, which will house production of its CoalSwitch brand fuel products.
AEG acquired the building and acres from Alamac Holdings as part of a $50 million investment the company anticipates making in Robeson County, the release stated.
“Robeson County welcomes this cutting-edge international company as part of its initial North American presence,” said Channing Jones, director of the Robeson County Economic Development Commission. “I am grateful to all the individuals and organizations that stepped forward to assist with this important project, which will have a noticeable and positive impact on our local economy.”
