MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Reports of power outages are starting to come into the newsroom as severe weather moves in.
As of 6:45 p.m. Friday, Santee Cooper is reporting multiple outages, but the most significant one is in the Surfside Beach area and is affecting 1,259 customers. Power is expected to be restored at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the website.
Horry Electric Cooperative has restored the majority of the outages that impacted customers during the severe weather.
Pee Dee Electric is showing that most of the power has been restored to its customers.
As of 5:20 p.m. Friday, Horry Electric Cooperative is reporting four outages that were affecting 1,696 customers. The majority of those are in the Socastee area.
At the same time, Santee Cooper is reporting two outages in the Pawleys Island area that were impacting 962 customers. The estimated restoration time was 9:45 p.m.
As of 4:55 p.m., Pee Dee Electric is showing a total of 418 customers are without power in the Pee Dee. That includes customers in Marion, Florence, Darlington and Dillon counties.
