MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Inspectors said they made some unsanitary discoveries at restaurants in Myrtle Beach.

At China King Restaurant at 1011 Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach, inspectors found the only hand-sink in the kitchen blocked by food and boxes.

They also found raw beef being cut on prep surfaces directly next to ready to eat foods. Inspectors also noted noodles were found cooling in an over-sized container in the walk in cooler. They also said egg rolls were cooling on sheet pans at room temperature.

China King Restaurant received an 83 out of 100.

Inspectors paid a visit to Lenny’s Country Kitchen at 1610 South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach where they found build up on the slicer.

They also discovered meal worms and bug droppings around bags of last seasons corn meal. Inspectors said bug droppings were also found on shelving. They also saw ice build-up on and around the freezer door.

There was damaged and missing tile in the kitchen and mildew on the walls in dry storage, according to inspectors.

Lenny’s Country Kitchen received a 90 out of 100.

There are two perfect scores this week. J and J Take Away at 2464 Highway 17 South in Garden City and Dairy King at 203 Main Street in North Myrtle Beach each received 100s this week.

Sweet and Sour Asian Kitchen is officially open. The restaurant touts authentic Asian entrees and rolled ice cream. That eatery is now serving at 980 Cipriana Drive in Myrtle Beach.

Also new to the restaurant beat, American Steak and Oyster Bar in Murrells Inlet. It just opened in the former Flows Place.

And on the North Strand, take a step back in time at Atlantic City Sliders. The 50s style diner opened in North Myrtle Beach in February.
