Restaurant Scorecard: Six days old apple pie, rusty water on the floor and taco fans get ready to get crafty
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - We begin this week’s Restaurant Scorecard with Waffle House at 1528 Highway 544 in Conway. Inspectors found a sanitizer bucket being dumped into the hand sink on the cook line.
Apple pie had a discard date six days prior and eggs above the cook line were missing date and time labels.
Inspectors say a door to a cabinet fell off when opened. The ice bin was leaking and creating a pool of rusty water on the floor and in the cabinet.
Liquid from hash browns was pooling in the bottom of the reach in cooler. The walk-in freezer had build up and debris.
Waffle House received an 88 out of 100.
Next up is Nagoya Hibachi Express at 1921 Highway 544 in Conway.
Inspectors found uncooked beef thawing in the kitchen hand sink. The hand sink at the kitchen entrance was storing toys.
Uncooked chicken breasts were stored in the freezer uncovered.
Uncooked shrimp were found thawing in a container, not under refrigeration or continuous running water
Food storage containers and bottles of sauces missing labels.
Nagoya Hibachi Express receives a 91 out of 100.
Two near perfect scores this week. IHOP at 1300 South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach and Domino’s Pizza at 2997 Highway 501 East in Conway each earned 99 out of 100. Congratulations.
The Crafty Taco is coming to the former Chipotle location off of 82nd Parkway on the north side of Myrtle Beach. No word on when it’s opening.
And our news partners My Horry News is reporting a new bakery is bringing a taste of Sicily to Carolina Forest. La Dolci Mania is an Italian bakery and cafe featuring sandwiches and pastry. It’s set to open at 2060 Oakheart Road next to Ollie’s by early March.
